Help Wanted!
Since I stopped shaving over a month ago, I believe most people close to me think I have given up on finding a job. Sure not being able to find a job after 10 months can get a person down, but believe me I'm not giving up, I'm just recharging.
Oh sure I'm frustrated ( 4 interviews with one company over two months and no explanation for passing on me can do that to someone) but i feel this will lead to a better and happier place in life. It's not like I'm not trying, I apply to everything network with my friends and associates and even attend job fairs. But i always get the same responses: overqualified, friends trying to keep own jobs, same 5 insurance companies at every fair.
I've really wanted to explore other careers, but for the last 10 months I couldn't train for a new job without giving up my unemployment. Talk about a Catch-22. Of curse now that my unemployment is running out, the government has decided it is OK for me to go back to school and keep my unemployment. I know what your saying, you can't catch a fucking break, Chuck.
Sure I might lose my house but I really hope for this country that our elected leaders (both fucking parties) see that they need to work together and come up with some solutions for all of us before it is too late. I'm amazed at how all of them seem to have no clue what is really going on in this country. The American way anymore seems to be about arguing about the pointless.
Enough about that, I'm staying positive. By the way, I'm available to start Monday.

Cardinals Game
Finally got a chance to get down to St. Louis for a cardinals game and guess what: its raining. Looks like its going to pass soon. The whole family has really enjoyed St. Louis. The highlight for the me has been Six Flags, Julie really likes Grants Farm an the highlight for the kids was the Budweiser brewery tour. They sure love their beer.

I like to Watch (and then mark it down)
I love to keep score at baseball games. At all levels if I'm at the game, I will be the guy keeping score. Not only do I like to keep score but I keep all my score cards in a file and I also collect old scorecards.I have over a dozen framed and on my walls. Most adults look at this as something a kid should be doing at a game not a grown man. The most common question is why. Here is my best answer as to why.
The answer: Yesterday
Yesterday Mark Buehrle pitched a perfect game for the Chicago White Sox and I wish I had been there. Every guy that has ever kept score wishes they were there. The perfect game has to be the ultimate game to keep score. Sure there are other milestones I've recorded such as Carlton Fisk's most games caught record, Jake Peavy's 3000th K and Jim Thomes 500th home run. These were all things I knew might happen before I went to the game, that is what makes the Perfect Game so special for the amateur score keeper. So congrats to all the guys and gals keeping score at the game yesterday, you now own a piece of history. Man I wish I did. Maybe my neighbor Bob, the White Sox official scorer, will sell me his.

Seats at the Chicago White Sox game on my birthday. Oswego Cobra tryouts start tonight. Only 3 days after our last game. I think we need to get out of this town for a few days, Wisconsin is too cold this year, so we might head south maybe St. Louis. Hard to go anywhere with Fenton. Did I mention I have two interviews set up later this week. I'll keep you posted.

My Favorite Monster has died.
Most people will remember Peter Boyle who passed away today from Raymond. I will always remember his best performance as Frankensteins Monster.
